Department objects in Snaprude are designed for high-level space planning. They act as containers that automatically wrap the spaces inside, making the difference between gross and net areas instantly clear. In the properties panel, objects are now clearly labeled as either department or space, so you always know what you're working with. By default, departments wrap their spaces with a two-foot offset, and they're automatically created when you import or generate programs through AI, CSV, or interpret. In 3D, departments appear with a subtle opacity and can be moved around independently, making it easy to start blocking and stacking at the department level. We've also set a default efficiency factor of 1.4 in line with industry standards, so area calculations are clear and reliable from the start.
