What You'll Learn

  • Track net internal area automatically as you design
  • Spot spaces that deviate from target with red and orange flags
  • Set FAR tracking and adjust the default deviation threshold
  • Sort areas by department or story and export them to Excel

Transcript

Let's delve into the details of the area analysis dashboard. While we're designing this model, you'll notice that the areas on the dashboard are automatically updated. By default, the dashboard displays the net internal area for all spaces, but it also shows the total areas of each space, comparing the actual versus the target area. Spaces that deviate excessively from the target are indicated in red, while those that are below the target are marked in orange. You can edit these indicators from the configure tab. A site area is automatically registered when you create the site using the site object type. You can also input the floor area ratio (FAR) to track it from the area's dashboard along with the deviation, with a default deviation of 5% that can be adjusted. The net internal area can be sorted by labels, by department, or by stories. You can also view the gross external area by departments and stories. If your FAR is set up in the configure tab, you'll see FAR values here, automatically updating as you design. All the areas in the dashboard can be exported by story or by label into Excel for documentation.
