American Copper Buildings

SHoP Architects

Project Overview

The American Copper Buildings, designed by SHoP Architects, are a striking pair of residential towers on Manhattan’s East River. Their signature copper cladding and skybridge set them apart as one of New York City’s most recognizable contemporary silhouettes. The towers bend as they rise, an architectural move that maximizes views and gives the buildings their dynamic posture. This concept model, built on Snaptrude, explores the bold geometry, massing articulation, and unique connector between the towers, all using parametric tools and BIM data in one environment.
