Select to edit

What's in this post?
You can now edit space edges right from the select tool, no need to switch tools or open side panels.– Aishwarya Arun, Product Specialist
What’s New
Select to Edit in 2D
You can now click and drag directly on a space’s edge to modify its size using the Select tool:
- Just hover over any edge to see the edit cursor
- Click + drag to resize
- Works only in 2D and on individual spaces
- Doesn’t work on vertices (yet), and multi-selection disables editing
This small shift makes editing feel more intuitive, like resizing a cell in a spreadsheet.
Updated Move vs. Copy Behavior
- Once you press Ctrl, the system toggles to copy mode
- You can now switch back and forth between move and copy mid-drag until the object is placed
Why It Matters
We heard from users that editing dimensions felt clunky, people kept jumping into the Object Properties panel or using Edit Length manually. This update brings resizing closer to how your intuition works: just grab and pull.
It’s especially useful during early layout adjustments, where speed and ease matter more than precision.
