Arc Walls in Revit Import

"Arc walls were coming in as static meshes, which meant any project with curved geometry needed manual rework after import. They now come in as proper parametric walls you can edit directly from the properties panel."– Ankit Kumar, Product Analyst

What's New

Simple arc walls from Revit now import as fully editable parametric walls in Snaptrude. Both single-layer and multi-layer walls are supported.

Editable wall properties

Imported arc walls retain all key parameters:

  • Start and end points
  • Arc radius
  • Wall height
  • Total wall thickness
  • Wall layers (materials and individual thicknesses)

All of these are editable from the properties panel after import.

Behavior by wall type

  • Simple arc wall: Imports as a parametric wall, fully editable
  • Arc wall with doors or windows: Imports as a non-parametric mesh with opening, not editable as a wall
  • Non-circular arc wall: Imports as non-parametric, not editable as a wall

Limitations

  • Arc walls with hosted elements (doors, windows) import as non-parametric geometry
  • Curtain walls and stacked walls are not supported as parametric arc walls
  • Paint and textures from Revit are not mapped during Direct Revit Import (.rvt files)
  • Arc walls with angular edges export back to Revit as Direct Shape
