Parametric Walls

“Parametric wall movement ensures that small design edits don’t cascade into rework. You move a wall, and the building stays intact.”
– Spoorthi Narayan, Product Specialist
What’s New
Snaptrude now supports parametric wall movement for spaces converted through Sketch to BIM. When you move a wall, connected walls, junctions, and floors automatically adjust, preserving spatial relationships and keeping your model intact.
This makes post-conversion edits faster, safer, and more predictable, especially during early BIM refinement.
Key Capabilities
- Connected wall movement: Moving a wall updates all adjoining walls and junctions automatically.
- Connection integrity: Wall connections stay intact instead of breaking or detaching.
- Floor alignment: Floors update automatically to match the new wall positions.
- Door & window retention: Doors and windows remain correctly placed after wall edits—no manual rework.
- 2D & 3D support: Works consistently across both 2D plans and 3D views.
Why This Matters
Parametric walls reduce cleanup after Sketch to BIM conversion, letting you refine layouts without breaking geometry, for a true design-to-BIM continuity experience.
