Constrained/Improved Move

“Moving objects on canvas should feel as fluid as sketching on paper. This update fixes long-standing friction and brings Snaptrude closer to that standard.”
- Aishwarya Arun, Product Specialist
What’s New
We’ve made improvements to how objects move in Snaptrude, making actions like repositioning spaces feel faster and more reliable.
View-Aware Movement
- Top View: Spaces now move parallel to their current storey—great for early massing.
- Front View: Moves objects vertically instead of pushing them into or out of the site.
Improved Axis Snapping
- Objects now snap cleanly to red, green, and blue axes even without pressing arrow keys.
- You can still use arrow keys to lock movement to a specific axis.
Better Picking Behavior
- Reduced accidental snapping to objects behind your selection.
- Smoother picking for overlapping spaces when using the Move tool (select-to-move still has some edge cases).
No More Spaces Dropping Below the Site
- Spaces will now stay on their correct level when moved—even when repositioning imported program blocks onto a site.
Bug Fixes
- Prevented spaces from unintentionally shifting below the site layer.
- Addressed erratic picking issues during move operations.
- Improved predictability when working with overlapping or grouped geometry.
