Program Mode

What's in this post?
Introduing Program Mode, a powerful, spreadsheet-style interface that lets you create, edit, and analyze program data in sync with your model. Whether you're setting up a program from scratch or working from a client’s RFP, Tables help you go from brief to blocks in minutes.
Key Capabilities
1. Bi-directional Canvas Sync
- Edit values in Tables and see instant updates on the design canvas — including area, room count, storey, and geometry.
- Select any space on canvas and it’ll highlight the row in Tables, and vice versa.
2. Familiar Spreadsheet Experience
- Tables behave like Excel or Google Sheets — intuitive for architects and planners used to working in spreadsheets.
- Two viewing modes: Compact (for quick edits) and Detailed (for full control).
3. Direct Space Creation
- Input just 3 values — Space Label, Net Area per Room (Target), and Room Count — and Snaptrude auto-creates spaces on the canvas.
4. Department-Level Summaries
- See efficiency, gross area, and differences between target vs. achieved areas — broken down by space and department.
5. Easy Data Import
- Copy-paste from Excel or CSV to create entire programs quickly.
- Updated CSV template supports expanded fields; backward-compatible with older formats.
6. Custom Calculations + Export
- Use a secondary sheet to run your own formulas and metrics.
- Export to
.xlsx
or.pdf
for documentation or review.
7. Compare Across Projects
- Pull in program data from other projects for reference or benchmarking. Imported data is read-only.
This is a foundational step in making Snaptrude the most data-aware spatial planning tool out there.
