BS Facts About Architecture Everyone Thinks Is True Feat. Doggos

May 31, 2022

Architecture is a vast and complex field. Architects face a never-ending list of decisions, from what material to use for the structure to how to design the interior. Certain facts have repeat over and over again like they are absolute truths, but it turns out that's not always the case!

Architects Are All Creative

A Good Creative Doggo

Creativity is important for architects, but it's not the only thing they need to be successful. In fact, many architects are more left-brained than right-brained. This means they're good at things like math and science, which are essential for creating functional and safe buildings. The accurate definition would be that Architects are great at identifying problems and coming up with creative solutions to those problems.

Architects Must Be Good At Math

It is a common misconception that architects must be good at math. But, while math skills are definitely helpful, they are not required to become an architect. In fact, many successful architects have very little experience with advanced mathematics. The important thing is, architects have an understanding of spatial relationships and a sense of proportions.

Architecture Students Have It Easy

It's no secret that architecture students have a lot of work to do. Between classes, studio time, and working on projects, it's easy to feel like you're always doing something. Yet, there are some benefits to being an architecture student that make all the work worth it. Here are a few BS facts about architecture students everyone thinks is true:

All Architecture Schools Are The Same

Note : Not An Accurate Image of an Architecture School

There is a common misconception that all architecture schools are the same. This is not true! While there are some similarities between schools, each one has its own unique strengths and weaknesses. It's important to do your research to find the right school for you. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

- The size of the school: Some students prefer large schools with lots of resources. Others prefer smaller, more intimate settings.

-The location: Do you want to be in a big city or a smaller town? The location can make a big difference in your experience.

-The cost: Architecture school is expensive. Make sure you know what the financial commitment will be before you make any decisions.

Architect Income Is Great

You may have heard that architects earn a lot of money and live a life of luxury. While it is true that architects can earn a good income, it is not always as high as you might think. In fact, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage for architects was $76,930 in 2016. That means that half of all architects earned less than that amount and half earned more. The highest 10 percent of earners made more than $130,820 while the lowest 10 percent made less than $46,600. So while there is potential to earn a good income as an architect, it is not guaranteed.

All Architects Love Modernism And Glass Buildings

There are a lot of misconceptions about architects and their love for modernism and glass buildings. While it is true that many architects do love modernism, there are as many who don't. And while glass buildings can be beautiful, they aren't always the most practical choice. So don't believe everything you read about architects - they're far more complex and interesting than you might think!

We won't blame you if you didn't read anything, and were distracted by the doggos. We were too. We're working on something that's going to help Architects save time, money and effort.
